Website Design for Home Service Contractors

Most contractor websites are built to look good in a browser. Ours are built to rank in Google and convert visitors into calls. Every site we build ships with trade-specific service pages, optimized city landing pages, LocalBusiness schema, fast load times, and mobile-first design β€” because 70% of your searchers are on phones and they decide in 3 seconds whether to call you or your competitor.

What's Included in Every Site

Built to Rank, Built to Convert

A contractor website that isn't built for local SEO is a missed opportunity every day. We don't separate "web design" from "SEO" β€” they're the same project. Every site we build is structured from the ground up to rank for your trade's keywords, convert mobile visitors into callers, and integrate with your GBP and local SEO strategy.

Every Site Includes

  • Homepage targeting your primary trade + city keyword with a conversion-focused hero, trust signals, and call CTAs above the fold on mobile.
  • Service pages for each of your core services β€” unique content, keyword-optimized, with FAQ schema to capture featured snippet positions.
  • City landing pages for every city in your service area β€” uniquely written, with LocalBusiness schema and location-specific content.
  • About page with E-E-A-T signals: team photos, licenses, certifications, years in business, and BBB/Angi accreditation badges.
  • Contact page with click-to-call, contact form, embedded Google Map, and business hours β€” all schema-marked up.
  • Technical SEO foundation: Clean URL structure, canonical tags, XML sitemap, robots.txt, fast hosting, SSL, and Google Search Console setup.
  • Schema markup: LocalBusiness, Service, FAQPage, and BreadcrumbList schema on every applicable page.

Our Build Process

From Kickoff to Live in 30 Days

πŸ“‹

Week 1: Strategy & Structure

Keyword research for your trade and service area. Site architecture planning β€” which pages to build, URL structure, internal linking plan. Competitor analysis showing which pages your top competitors rank with and what content gaps we can exploit. Design direction and copy brief approved before a line of code is written.

Weeks 2–3: Build & Content

All pages built simultaneously β€” homepage, service pages, city pages, about, contact. Every page written with its target keyword, meta title, meta description, and schema markup. Photos sourced or provided by you. Mobile and desktop review at the end of week 3 β€” you approve before we proceed.

Week 4: Launch & Setup

Final QA, performance testing, Google Search Console and Analytics setup, GBP website link update, and XML sitemap submission. Site launches and we monitor for indexing, crawl errors, and early ranking signals. Post-launch support for 30 days for any adjustments or additions.

FAQ

Website Design Questions

Depends on what you have. If your current site has a solid technical foundation and just needs content additions (service pages, city pages, schema markup), we can build on it. If your site is slow, not mobile-optimized, built on an outdated platform, or lacks the structural flexibility to support a proper local SEO architecture, a rebuild is typically more cost-effective than trying to retrofit SEO onto a broken foundation. We'll audit your current site and give you an honest recommendation.
We build primarily on WordPress and as custom HTML/CSS sites, depending on your needs and technical comfort level. WordPress gives you the ability to add blog posts, update content, and expand the site yourself. Custom HTML/CSS sites are faster, more secure, and require no updates or plugins β€” but need developer involvement for changes. We'll recommend the right option based on your business and how hands-on you want to be with your site after launch.
You can rank in the Map Pack without a website β€” some businesses do. But a website significantly expands what you can rank for. Without a website, you're limited to the keywords your GBP can rank for in the Map Pack. With a website, you also rank in the organic results below the map, capture brand-specific and service-specific searches, and send stronger geographic relevance signals to your GBP for surrounding cities. In competitive markets, not having a website puts you at a systematic disadvantage against competitors who do.
